August 31 is the Last Date for Filing Income Tax Returns for salaried employees
31.08.2015 is the last date for filing the tax returns for the central and state government employees, without penalty. You can even filing Income Tax return before 31st March 2017. For filing late returns you may have to pay a penalty of Rs.5,000, on the tax authority’s discretion for the offence of not filing returns on time.
The last date for filing the returns for salaried employees was extended to August 31. Those under the age of 80, people with annual income of more than Rs.5 lakhs, and those demanding refund are to pay their income tax returns online.
