Constitution of Uniforms Committee for re-designing of present Uniform for eligible categories of Railway employees having public interface

ORDER

Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) have decided to constitute a Uniform Committee for re-designing of present uniform for eligible categories of Railway employees having public interface. The Uniform Committee will consist of the followings:

(i) Executive Director(E&R), Railway Board …. Convenor
(ii) Executive Director(IR), Railway Board….. Member
(iii) Executive Director Finance(C), Railway Board….. Member
(iv) Executive Director(PM), Railway Board….. Member

(The Uniform Committee may also co-opt Members from Engineering, Mechanical and S&T Directorates as deemed necessary.)

2. The Terms of reference (ToR) of the Uniform Committee will be as under:-

(a) To co-ordinate- with the Design firms and various stakeholders e.g., Unions for re-designing of present uniform for eligible categories of Railway employees having public interface;
(b) To finalise selection of categories of staff and designs;
(c) Estimate sanctioning, tendering and acceptance (as per extant rules);
(d) To prepare Rollout plan; and
(e) To initiate Pilot Implementation.

3. The Committee shall initiate implementation of the new designs by 31st December, 2016.

4. E&R Branch of Railway Board will be the Nodal Branch for functioning of the Committee and to roll out the project. Therefore, with regard to the functioning of the aforesaid Committee, all related works/issues including ParI. Questions, RTI cases, their execution and other formalities should be dealt with by the Nodal Branch.

5.The Convenor and Members of the Committee will draw TA/DA asper extant Rules.
